Notice of Voluntary Recall of "Pickled Radish" Manufactured by Teruko Akagi

We would like to express our sincere gratitude for your continued patronage of Michi-no-Eki Kitagawa Hayuma.

We have recently discovered through an inspection by the Nobeoka Public Health Center that the "Pickled Radish" manufactured by Teruko Akagi, which was sold at our station from May 9, 2021 onwards (32 units in total), contained food additives that were not listed on the ingredients label.

The food additive used was a sweetener (saccharin sodium).

The sweetener (saccharin sodium) itself is widely used in pickles and other foods, and we have received reports that it does not pose any health risks based on the amount used. However, because it violates the Food Labeling Act, we will be voluntarily recalling the product as described below.

We sincerely apologize for the great concern and inconvenience caused to our customers. Going forward, we will work together with our suppliers to ensure strict compliance and prevent recurrence. We kindly ask for your understanding and cooperation.
