The general incorporated association Machizukuri Saito KOKOKARA (Saito City) has started selling "Koji and Rice Reward Potage Konohanairo".

Three varieties of "Konohanairo," a reward potage made with koji and rice, are now available from Saito City in Miyazaki Prefecture, which is said to be the birthplace of amazake (sweet rice drink).

Kumquat and Makau Potage: 590 yen (tax included)

This drink combines the gentle sweetness of amazake (sweet rice wine) with plenty of kumquats, a specialty of Miyazaki Prefecture, and is finished with ma-gao, a rare Taiwanese spice with a citrusy aroma, for a vibrant and fruity flavor. Its refreshing taste makes it perfect for a light breakfast on days when you don't have much of an appetite.

Red pepper and cumin potage: 590 yen (tax included)

This soup features a rich, flavorful base made with amazake (sweet rice wine), combined with fruity red bell peppers from Saito and cumin, a spice commonly used in curries. Its appetizing aroma and taste make it a perfect accompaniment to rice.

Burdock root and yuzu pepper potage: 590 yen (tax included)

This soup combines the rich rice flavor of amazake (sweet rice drink) with paddy field burdock grown using traditional methods, and yuzu pepper, another famous specialty of Saito City. The deep, gentle flavor is balanced by the spicy kick of the yuzu pepper. This single bowl is a satisfying soup.
