🍊 Okinawa Mandarin Oranges 🍊
Kabuchi mandarin oranges
This mandarin orange is native to Okinawa. It may look rough and unattractive, but it has a refreshing aroma and a pleasant sweetness.
Oto mandarin oranges
This is a native Okinawan mandarin orange with a tart flavor. You can eat it as is, or squeeze it like lemon for cooking.
Targayo Mandarin Orange
This is a hybrid variety of Kabuchi mandarin and Oto mandarin. It's a mandarin with a good balance of sweetness and acidity.
The name originates from the Okinawan dialect, where it's unclear who made it, so it goes "Who → Dare ga yo → Ta-ga yo → Taruga yo."
